Step 1: Schedule a 15-minute consultation
Fill out the contact form or call to schedule a 15 minute free consultation to determine if Hummingbird Healing Counseling and Therapy is the right fit for you. During your consult, we will discuss your therapy needs, goals, and my approach. If appropriate, we will schedule your first appointment during this call.
Step 2: Schedule your first appointment
Following the 15-minute consultation, we will schedule your first appointment if it's determined that Hummingbird Healing is a great fit for your care.
Step 3: Setup your client portal and billing
Prior to your first appointment, you will receive two emails (details below) outlining next steps to complete before your first appointment. Please have these items completed at least 24hrs before your intake session to avoid any delays or issues with payment or processing claims.
Step 4: Begin care
Once all of the portals have been setup and the intake forms have been received, we can officially begin your care at Hummingbird Healing.
I am in network with Cigna and Aetna plans. I bill all insurance services though Alma, which is a HIPAA-compliant medical billing service. I also offer superbills to cash pay clients for potential insurance reimbursement.
Please note that reimbursement is at the discretion of your insurer. While not guaranteed, individual therapy is the most likely service type to receive insurance coverage or reimbursement. Reimbursement for couples therapy services is becoming more common, but depends on your insurer and presenting concerns. Please confirm your insurance company's policies on coverage or reimbursement for multiple-person therapy.
While I am able to verify insurance, it is still the client's responsibility to know their coverage details. I recommended that you call your insurance company as a beginning step to seeking services.
Cash pay rates or out-of-pocket payments can be paid with card, cash, checks, or HSA cards. Payments are due in full at the time of the session for anyone paying out of pocket or those who have a co-payment or co-insurance fee due. Current rates are below:
Active clients can typically attend anywhere from 8-60 sessions per calendar year. While this is a large range, it truly depends on your therapeutic needs, preferences, and goals. The length of therapy/counseling services from your first-to-last session is entirely up to the client. You are not bound to any session amount or total price amount and can terminate services at any time, for any reason.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to provide self pay clients both orally and in writing a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. Hummingbird Healing Counseling and Therapy will provide you with this form through the Simple Practice client portal upon scheduling for you to review and sign.
